I am delighted that you have chosen to look through our website.  This offers just a taste of the exciting opportunities that we offer at Turnfurlong Junior School, which is a happy and very successful school.  Turnfurlong Junior School is a large junior school in Aylesbury.  We have 3 classes in each year group for children aged between 7 and 11 years old.

We pride ourselves on providing a rich and broad curriculum that complements our academic achievement.

Visitors to the school are warmly welcomed and I hope that if you have further questions you will contact the school.

• Teachers very approachable. • Great Teachers, nurturing environment, lots of opportunities in academic and non-academic subjects. • Children engage in setting the school values. Teachers are encouraging and supportive of children. • clubs and out of hours care and facilities & sport. • Range of opportunities e.g. to learn instruments. • Great learning experiences for the children with trips etc. My child is happy and feels well supported. • Children are proud of their school so this underlines the positive aspects of the school - teaching and activities. • How caring the staff are. They have supported my son all the way throughout his school time so far. • Very approachable staff and teachers and never an issue if you need a chat. • Communication - respond quickly to any concerns etc,. Trips are excellent. • I feel Turnfurlong are very supportive in listening and acting on any concerns I have. It makes me feel confident that my child is well looked after. • My child is very proud of her school which I feel is a wonderful sign; that she is enjoying her studies. I've found staff to be approachable and kind. Really happy and content and feel I trust the school to bring out the best of my daughter. • SENCO provision is excellent. They really seem to know the children. Very open to conversations at any times. Supportive of parents. • Turnfurlong has always been extremely supportive, and have offered support to the children when they have gone through some tough times personally. • The relationship the teachers have with the students brings the best out in them and helps them reach their full potential. Always find staff supportive and helpful with any issues I may have. • Good support to children of all abilities. • A happy environment with wonderful staff. • There are lots! A really great school with generally excellent staff. We are very lucky parents. • Well led and good management. Enthusiastic, dedicated staff. • I like the creativity of the school in its teaching - a good mix between classroom studies and creative activities to inspire the children's learning. • Pupils are well behaved, teachers always encourage children to achieve their targets. • Encouraging children’s confidence in their ability. Promoting a love of learning. • Information received during parents evening - friendly and approachable staff. • Great communication, deals with any issues effectively and quickly. Great activities • Many staff work hard to put on plenty of extra-curricular activities. If provides a very holistic, rounded learning environment • All the staff at the school put a lot of effort to provide great education for my child

TJS are taking part in the 'Big Battery Hunt' and all the children will be given a special box for collecting old batteries. The aim is to collect as many old batteries as possible from home-AAA, AA, C and D batteries only please. Children are to fill up their boxes and then bring these into school and either hand to Mrs Phillips or the office.
