Science

Intent

At TJS we endeavour to provide all children with a purposeful, progressive, language rich science curriculum which is engaging and inclusive of all, encouraging children to be inquisitive throughout their time at the school and beyond. We believe that science should excite pupils interests and they should be encouraged to take risks, work out problems and raise further questions.  Curiosity and an inquisitive nature are celebrated within the classroom.

We will develop children's scientific knowledge and ensure that they can apply this when using equipment, conducting experiments, buildign arguments and explaining concepts confidently and continue to ask questions and be inquisitive about their surroundings.  We will support the children in becoming increasingly confident in collating and interpreting results and come to conclusions based on real evidence  As a result we aim to create learners who are equipped with the skills and knowledge to help them understand how science can affect our lives today and in the future.
